Terms of Service

The terms that govern your use of Sadaqah Syndicate. By creating an account or making a pledge, you agree to these terms.

Last updated: 1 September 2026

1. About these terms

These Terms of Service form a binding agreement between you and Sadaqah Syndicate governing your access to and use of our website, mobile app and services. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. Eligibility and your account

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract to use Sadaqah Syndicate. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that takes place under your account. One account per person.

3. How pledges work

When you set a monthly pledge, you authorise us (through Stripe, our payment processor) to collect that amount on a recurring basis until you change, pause or cancel it. You decide how to spread each month's pledge across the live syndicates you choose to support, subject to a minimum of £5 per syndicate, and you can rebalance that split at any time in Switch and Spread.

Any part of your pledge you have not yet allocated stays with your pledge until you place it. If a syndicate you back is delivered and closes, your share moves to your most underfunded live syndicate, or is held unallocated for you to place, according to the setting you choose in Billing.

You can change your pledge amount, pause collections for one or three months, or cancel entirely, at any time from Billing. Changes take effect from your next billing cycle. While paused, no collections are made.

4. Platform funding

Funds raised for each syndicate are passed to the charity partner behind it, less a 20% results fee retained by the platform. That fee funds partner vetting, on-the-ground verification and the delivery reports you receive. The split is itemised in the statements available to each charity partner and reflected in the delivery report published for each syndicate. Charity partners may additionally pay platform service fees under their own partner agreements.

5. Charity partners and causes

We select and vet charity partners through a due-diligence and Shariah-review process, but Sadaqah Syndicate is a giving platform, not the charity itself. The delivery of aid is carried out by our partners in accordance with their own programmes and governance. Progress figures, timelines and delivery estimates shown in the app are provided in good faith and may change with conditions on the ground.

6. Circles and referrals

Circles let you give alongside people you invite. By joining a Circle you agree that its members can see your name, initials and the amounts you give each month. Circle owners may approve or decline join requests. You can leave a Circle at any time.

Referral links are for personal sharing. We may withhold or reverse referral credit obtained through spam, self-referral or other abuse, and may remove Circles or content that is unlawful or abusive.

7. Content and intellectual property

The platform, its design, and the videos, photographs and reports published on it belong to Sadaqah Syndicate or its charity partners. We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app and website for their intended purpose. You may not scrape, copy or redistribute platform content except as the app itself allows (for example, sharing an invite link).

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the service, attempt to disrupt it, probe its security, or use it for any unlawful purpose. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms or that we reasonably believe are being used fraudulently.

9. Liability

The service is provided on an "as is" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

10. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms from time to time and will notify you of material changes by email or in the app. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.

These policies are provided in good faith and kept under review; they are a plain-English summary and do not constitute legal advice. Questions? Email hello@sadaqahsyndicate.com.
